Christy Nelson
Born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1992, Christy Nelson attended Vestavia Hills High School, where she was a 4-year starting outfielder on conference, district and two-time state finals participant. She earned "most valuable defensive player" and "team-captain" honors to go along with her academic achievements.
Christy considered several scholarship offers, but chose Marion Military Institute - (MMI) for its nationally recognized program for developing intellectual and moral leaders via a disciplined and physical social environment. During her freshman and sophomore years, her teams qualified twice for the ACCC (regional tournament) with Christy earning top defensive player and co-captain awards.
